Richard Downs. Nicaraguan-American ,classically trained violinist and Composer . At a very young age moved to the USA to study at the North Carolina school of the arts,... later, he obtained his Masters degree in music from Carnegie Mellon University, after moving to Puerto Rico where he had been a member of the Puerto Rico symphony orquestra for the past 14 years he also begins to study and follow his two equally intense passions, Jazz/fusion- improvisation and meditation. After meeting Enrique Cardenas a native american/mexican flutist and composer, he joins the Kokopelli Project, an eclectic musical ensemble experimenting with world fusion, native american flutes,indian ragas,blues,funk and modern jazz and begins to flourish as a composer, violinist, electric mandolinist,percussionist and flutist ,developing his own unique sound and concept unified by a deep search of the mathematical and emotive qualities of sound.
Traveled and performed in France, Chile,Germany,Italy,Spain and at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

From 2008-2012 Richard Lived in Amarante, Portugal where he worked as a classical violinist with the Orchestra do Norte.
Currently a freelance violinist and composer in the U.S.A and Puerto Rico
